Pumpkin Patch

Every year it is our tradition to visit Helene's Hilltop Orchard to get pumpkins, eat some caramel apple pie, go on a hayride and do the corn maze.   Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans this year.   The day was super cold, wet and all around nasty and this was our last chance to go!  They shut down all the attractions so to document the short lived trip, we took pictures of us in the car!!!  At least we're still smiling!  So as an alternative we went out to get a bite to eat!  Not quite as exciting but at least we were all together!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's....the Boersma's?

Over the past weekend, we were invited to our friend's house for a family Halloween party!  We felt a little like the Incredibles family when they were out of shape!  :-) LOL!!!  It was fun though and I know the kids were happy that we dressed up with them.  Thanks for the awesome party Timlers!

Speaking of our friends, here they are Rob, Lanette and Peyton.  So that's how Darth Vader was born!  It was when an AC/DC fan and a witch got together!!! LOL

I think the hit of the night was when the kids got to dress three of the "mommy's" like "mummies"...which then resulted in a whole new game with the TP!

New York Baby!!!

Soooo....Josh and I just got back from an AMAZING trip to New York!  It was my first time ever and Josh's first time going without work.  We got to visit our friends Jeff and Jenn and see their adorable twin boys, Charlie and Jace.  We even celebrated Jeff's birthday and met a handful of their closest friends.  They were so welcoming and nice...and the wine was flowing that night! LOL  It was definitely a trip filled with fun and many memories were made!  I can't wait to go back someday!

Josh really isn't this funny...Jace just happens to smile ALL the time.  That grin is tattooed in my brain!!!  What a cutie pie!
My first look at the impressive New York skyline.

The whole gang!

Our first New York ferry ride.

The skyline is just as impressive at night!

My first New York cab ride.  This is the only time you'll see my eyes open and a smile on my face...the rest of the time I was covering my eyes and saying a little prayer!! LOL

Our room in Times Square.

We had brunch at the famous Tavern on the Green.

We saw a lot of sailors!  I had to snap at least one photo of them.

The church at Ground Zero where memorials are set up inside.  It was really sad, but I felt like it was my duty to visit and remember those that died and why our soldiers are fighting and dying to keep our freedom.

The subway system is still shut down around the area.

The New York Stock Exchange!!!  I'm not sure why I'm smiling since everything was spiraling out of control on Wall Street!  Maybe I knew it was going to have a massive gain on Monday! ;-)

Ahhh, a perfect imitation of George Washington.  Bravo!

Times Square

Jeff's Birthday party.

Jace was caught a little off guard here... sort of a deer in the headlights kinda look, but oh so cute!

Charlie-man...lookin' good my friend!

These little chairs are hilarious!

Here's the ferry ride back into New York after Josh got to go to a Jets game.  This game was awesome for two major reasons: #1:  The Jets ACTUALLY won and #2:  He got to see Brett Favre play in person!!!  What an amazing day he had with "the dudes".  Definitely a highlight of the trip!!!

30 Rock!

On top of Rockefeller center.  Yikes it's high up here!!!

In front of the ice-skating rink.

Josh is getting a good ear flushing in this picture!

We needed a "little" bite to eat at the end of our long day, and a BLT sounded just right.  Little did I know it'd be a large as Rockefeller center!

Check out the buns on that!  He must work out...

Hmmm...what should I do next???

Yeah baby!

I just had to get my picture taken with a NY cop!

We made this poor fool peddle us around on his bike "chariot" through Central Park!  Of course I had to take a picture of the guy's buns.  Josh was so embarrassed!  He can't take me anywhere! :-)

Josh Boersma IS the new Apprentice...oops!  You're fired!

We spotted the Love Guru's lingerie!  Yes, those are door knockers for your "knockers"!

The views from 30 Rock in the daytime.

Okay, Josh said I had to put this picture in.  I have this bad habit of biting my straws...this time, it bit back!  The straw actually split open and grabbed onto a taste bud.  We were ordering food in a bakery when the incident occurred.  I had to leave the shop and when Josh came out, he about died from laughter and of course had to take a photo.  He made me pull the straw away from my tongue to get the full effect!

So long boys!  It was great visiting you and your parents!!!  I can't wait to see you all again!
