Another Jackism

Mister Jackers has been sick over the weekend and has been hanging out in his tank top and shorts to keep his very high fever down.  I thought it would be a good idea to get him into a new pair of jammies for the night and as I walked past the bathroom where Josh was helping Jack dress, I overheard Jack exclaim:

"Dad!  Look at it, look at it!!!  It's growing!  Do you see it?"

Josh responds:  "You mean your nipple?"

"YEAH!  Look it's GROWING!"

"Well, it's just because you're cold...that's just what they do."

Of course I'm nearly losing it in the laundry room and can only imagine the day when he realizes something else on his body involuntarily moves.  You gotta love little boys... :-)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

What could be better than the first substantial snowfall and early release from school???  We surely don't know!
Kate and Jack decided to test out their new tube from Aunt DeDee (DeAnn) and Uncle Dave.  It was AWESOME!!!

Mater was having fun too!

For those of you that don't know, I have a third child.  He is a little furrier than the others and walks on all fours, but he is my baby none-the-less!  If you scroll down a bit you can even see that either Jack resembles Mater or Mater resembles Jack...I'm not quite sure which way it goes.

This calls for some hot chocolate!

Christmas Concert

The kids had their Christmas concert last night and unfortunately I wasn't able to get one good photo of the kids on stage.  As a consolation, my little neighbor buddy Jake (who is now my boyfriend, so he says) came and sat with me during the concert.  He thought it was fun taking pictures, and since I think he is so cute, I had to share them.

P.S.  Josh is a little jealous and ready to rumble! Such an ego that one. LOL  I think Jake can take him though.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and friends and we really took that to heart this year. As you can see, our table might be the longest in history.  It seats 19 people if you were wondering.  We were so blessed to share this wonderful holiday with so many people that are close to us.  All the food was hot, the conversation and laughter was abundant and my 30 lb turkey didn't disintegrate like the one on Christmas Vacation (that was what I was truly thankful for!).  Thank you all for coming and for all the yummy dishes you brought.  We cherish our time together and always look forward to being with you!  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving this year and always!

Jackisms

Jack has an uncanny way of saying things that are so cute or down right hilarious.  I decided that I need to start writing these "Jackisms" down before I forget.  Oh how I wish I had this blog years ago.  I know there are so many that will never be remembered...but, you have start somewhere, so here goes:

Tonight, I told Jack I was going to rub some VASELINE on his chapped lips.  He said: "Can I see the gasoline?"

Last week after watching High School Musicals 1 & 2 about fifty times while he was home sick, he looked at me and said:  "Mom.  You're as pretty as Sharpay and as nice as Gabriella."  That boy will make an EXCELLENT husband someday!

About a year ago we saw a man smoking while driving and Jack burst into laughter and said:  "Look at that man driving with a CRAYON!"  He wasn't the only one laughing for long!

Also about a year ago, Josh and I were having a conversation in the front seats of the car.  And as we often do, we'd say things that the kids shouldn't hear when we thought they weren't listening.  So Josh looks at me and says (he had a cold at the time):  "Man this cold is kicking my a$$!"  Then as soon as he finished, Jack quickly took a break from the conversation he and Kate were having to say:  "Yeah, it's really kicking my BRASS!"  I couldn't scold him because I was using all my energy trying to hide my laughter!

As you can see, Jack keeps smiles on our faces nearly all day, every day.  He is a little ray of sunshine wherever we go!  I hope everyone has a person like this in their lives.

Christmas Pictures 2008

Yeah, we finally got the energy and more importantly the time to get our photos done!  My best friend in the whole wide world came over and took our pictures.  She is so awesome and I think she did a great job!  Thanks a BUNCH Lanette!

And here is the great photographer and bestest friend, Lanette!  If you know anything about her, it is that she has a great attitude and an infectious smile!  It's rare not to see her with it, so I had to share the picture!  Love ya girl!

Kate's First Swim Meet!

Here's our champion swimmer!!!  Kate participated in her first ever swim competition and she did AWESOME!!!  We're still waiting on the official results, but no matter what, she will ALWAYS be a winner in our book.  Kate is usually a little apprehensive to try new things and often breaks down and cries because of this.  But not today!  She looked like a true pro!  She got up on the starting block and didn't pause for a single moment.  We were so happy to see her having fun out there!

Kate after her warm up.

Kate trying to keep warm between Heats.  We bought her a new fancy robe to bring with her next time!

Kate was placed on a relay group and they were booking!  Their team came in second in their Heat.

Here she is getting ready for her turn in the relay.

I've been bit by the Christmas bug!

So it's true, I'm jumping the gun a bit on my seasonal blog background, but I just can't help it!  Jack was home sick today and we watched the Polar Express together.  The spirit of Christmas came over me and I had to update the site!  I hope you are all getting into the holiday spirit whether it be for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas or whatever you celebrate!  Remember it's not about the gifts or how much you have...it's who you're with!  That makes me the richest person on earth.  I am so fortunate to have been blessed with such a fantastic family!  I hope you all feel equally blessed!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Kate's 7th Birthday Party!!!

Here's some fun pictures from Kate's 7th birthday party!  The girls had a blast at the waterpark.  It was so much fun seeing them all together!  Happy Birthday kiddo, I can't believe how fast seven years can go...as far as I'm concerned, you'll always be my baby!  I love you.

Siara, Lizzie, Danielle, Kate, Megan, Julia, Cora and Brooke.

It wouldn't be a party without pizza!

Kate opening all of her wonderful gifts!  Everyone was so thoughtful and generous.

They even got to hang out in the game room.

Dance girls, dance!

Josh is just an overgrown kid!

Poor Lizzie had a nasty blister that popped!  She was the bravest child (boy or girl) that I've ever seen!  Not a single flinch or tear.  What a trooper!  She had to get two band-aides because the first one fell off.  The guy performing first aid wrapped the second one in a lot of tape.  I instructed her not to open until Christmas! LOL

Cake time!

Make a wish, and make it good!

Even Josh had to have a piece...you'll never know if I did, since I was the smart one that held onto the camera! :-)
