Sea World

Here we are at Sea World!!!  It was definitely a highlight on our trip to Florida!  We wouldn't recommend getting the meal plan however!  Barfaroni!!!  It's a lot of money and you're only limited to a few choices...all of which aren't very good!  If you go to Sea World, Shamu has two shows: his regular one during the day and Shamu Rocks at night.  We highly recommend seeing both...it was really cool!  And if you want to get wet, sit on the lower right hand side!

Dolphin & Whale Show

This was taken at the dolphin and whale show.  This was our second favorite show at Sea World!  I cried...I know...I have issues! LOL  These creatures are truly amazing though and to watch them in action just got to me.  I'm just glad Josh didn't have the camera so he could take a picture of it.  Of course he was getting a good laugh at my expense!

Sting Rays!

Feeding the sting-rays was an adventure!

Both kids chickened out but still had smiles on their faces!

I can't say I blame them for backing out.  Here I'm feeding one and it is completely terrifying when all of a sudden a swarm of gigantic sting-rays come at you!  I don't care what they say, it does kind of hurt!!!  This is the first and last time I'll ever feed one!  Even Josh backed out after feeding one or two.  We ended up giving the bait to some people next to us.

Shark Encounter!

Here we are at the shark encounter.  Kate became convinced that a great white shark was going to bust through the glass and eat us...

(not a great white)

...and like a concerned and caring mother, I grabbed the camera to document the event as it unfolded!

I believe this little guy is called a Sea Dragon.  They look just like seaweed.

Shamu Stadium

Shamu, Shamu!!

Shamu getting a massage from his trainer.

The kids got to meet and greet the trainers after the show.  Jack loves to give high fives!

After Shamu Rocks (the night show)...where we sat in the lower right hand side.  I'm not sure we would have chosen to do that if we had known how wet we were going to get that week at Disney due to Tropical Storm Fey...oh who am I kidding?!  Of course we would have!  It was awesome...and COLD!!!!

Balloon Ride

So, the kids wanted to ride this twirling ballon ride (think Teacups at Disney).  We agreed to go on it as long as they didn't spin the balloon.  Little did Josh know, that would be the least of his worries...

...as you can see, they don't make these ride for a family of four with a big daddy measuring in at 6'4"!  So here is my knee precariously positioned in a most delicate area!!!

And what a guy!  Smiling through the fear!!!  Meanwhile, I'm trying not to pee my pants!

A Cut Above The Rest

Kate has been requesting that I let her grow her bangs out.  I suggested that it would probably look better if we cut her hair so that they can all grow out together.  I think I did a good job with the cut and of course Kate looks cute no matter how her hair looks!

...and she scores!!!

Yeah!!!  My little miss Kate scored her first goal!!  I'm so proud of her.  Way to go Kate!

My birthday present

Since we historically have moved about once a year, I alway had a fresh start on decorating the house.  Now that we've been in this home for nearly 3 years, I was starting to feel pretty antsy about the decor.  Josh agreed to let me redo the kid's bathroom for my birthday present.  I know that might sound weird, but that's the kind of stuff that I like.  Josh even went above and beyond the call of duty and put up crown molding!  I love it!

Fashion show

So Kate and Jack decided to put on a fashion show tonight.  This is how they looked when they came down to show off their hard work.
Unfortunately, they've never seen a real fashion show...
I consider this more of a comedy routine!
It's true I have given birth to two monkeys!!!
If you haven't noticed yet, Kate's my poser!

Happy 5th Birthday Jack!!!!

Happy Birthday my little man!  I can't believe you're 5 years old already!

Jack's Birthday Party

The Stage was set for the best Pirate Birthday ever!
Here's Jack with our emergency cake.  I originally tried to make a bomb cake with a twizzler as the fuse.  Unfortunately it looked like a turd on a string and tasted like it too! LOL  Josh was sent out early Saturday morning to locate a cake that wouldn't be a complete embarrassment!  Luckily for us, he was successful!
The hit of the party was the treasure hunt.  We hid clues all over the house and in the yard.  The kids followed the clues to the treasure that was buried in our woods.  We had taken a cooler and buried their goodie "treasure chests" and an assortment of candy inside.
The kids couldn't get to their clues fast enough!
Here's the whole gang just before getting their treasure.

Day at the park

It's a bird, it's a plane...no!  It's Super Kate!
Here's happy, happy fun time at the park.
Jack's signature move on the "spin-dial".
Is there anyone sweeter?
